A local firefighter created the Utah Firefighter Calendar to raise money to fight cancer in our community.
Everyone knows someone who has suffered from cancer. It’s a disease that affects young and old without bias.
For us, firefighters of Utah, it’s more than a threat. In fact, 68% of firefighters fall victim to cancer.
We wanted to fight back for our friends and our family members who are affected by this disease – so we created the Utah Firefighter Calendar.
Now in our second year, we donate 100% of proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
Thank you for your support.
The Utah Firefighter Calendar Story
Firefighter Nick Honsvick (over there in the burning doorway) from Salt Lake City, Utah, had the idea. He asked his friends and coworkers if they’d give even more than the job already asked – this time, to fight cancer.
The firemen stepped up.
In 2015, that meant finding a photographer and a printer. Ben Sant, a former firefighter turned photographer, shot the calendar.
In 2016, we set out to do it again. We held casting sessions and shot the calendar over the summer at new locations across the Salt Lake valley.
The 2017 Utah Firefighter Calendar Launch Party at Publick Coffee Roasters was a success: we sold out of the calendars we printed for the event, ensuring enough calendars would be printed for the holiday season.
